There are terrible economic, racist, and sexual forces in the United States that have given the black woman a depraved concept of herself and have made her a “difficult” person to deal with. And contrary to what “nationalistic” blacks assert, there are black women just as there are white women – in America who are physically and psychologically almost impossible to bear in an intimate heterosexual relationship. If I were asked for counsel, I would advise black women – indeed, everyone in America to work for the obliteration of those forces in our society and culture that not only frustrate black men and women, but set the sexes at odds with each other in general. As Pearl Buck has lamented, nowhere in the world are men and women so estranged as in the United States.
