Listening to art : training of psychoanalysts by Laurie Laufer

Listening to works of art would thus also contribute to the training / education, as Freud and then Lacan discussed, of psychoanalysts.

The psychoanalyst is analyst with what he is by Laurie Laufer

Obviously, the analyst cannot be in overhang from his singular position, he is analyst with what he is rather than than with what he knows. That said, “the turn of the screw in advance” would come from that he is neighbouring his own sexual enigma, his own neurotica. Doing so, the analyst would be trans-sexual, traversed unceasingly by a desire to know, much more than a knowledge, because the desire to know is a theoretical bet, not a theoretical knowledge, and as a bet, it would engage unceasingly the subjectivity of the analyst himself.

The psychoanalyst is on the margin by Laurie Laufer

The position of the psychoanalyst is to be on the margin, on the margin of the current, official, normative discourses, trying to support the speaking subject’s desire, which means a subject who constantly escapes his own word.

Relation to his own unconscious by Octave Mannoni

The primary concern of a psychoanalyst is not his relation to an unconscious‘s theory, but, above all, his relation to the unconscious – and his own one first.
