One rises only through abasement by Michel Zink

Faith in a humiliated God who lifts up the humble may well have been proclaimed by a Church that only imperfectly, sporadically or not at all drew the all consequences. It nevertheless marked a society of honor, strongly hierarchical and based on the power manifested by pomp. It marked it to the point of inculcating in it the painful conviction, from which we have never been able to completely rid ourselves, that one rises only through abasement and that who pushes sacrifice to the point of accepting the absolute evil that is humiliation wins a victory over evil.

The innocence’s opposite by Frédéric Gros

The opposite of innocence is not guilt, it is lucidity – here is the lesson of Genesis. And, one who is ashamed is lucid, he sees how injustices, iniquities are supported by the law, justice and the Church.

FN : Frederic Gros enter an ideological debate which tries to disqualifie guilt in order to valorise shame. We may precise that we’re not sure to agree to this sentences. For the moment, Ruwen Ogien work sounds more accurate.
