The woman’s lack of modesty/decency as well as her lack of heart is expressed in the way she talks about her conquests and the way she talks about them. Man feels ashamed to be loved, because he is then gratified with something, passive and chained, instead of being a giver, active and free, and he knows that he is never worthy of this love as a person. The woman boasts about it, she brags about it to other women, seeking to arouse their jealousy. She does not feel that the inclination one has for her is a recognition of her real value, and as a testimony of a deep understanding one would have of her being, but as a grant made to herself of a value she would not otherwise have, a brand new gift of an existence and an essence justifying her in the eyes of others.
