Let us remember this preacher who, in order to invite the faithful to overcome the shame of confession, sees in God’s question to Adam, who is hiding after the sin (“Adam, where are you?”), an effort to mitigate the shame of his nakedness. God affects not to see Adam and tries to avoid the humiliation of his gaze*.

Souvenons nous de ce prédicateur qui, pour inviter les fidèles à surmonter la honte de la confession, voit dans la question de Dieu à Adam, qui se cache après la faute, (« Adam, où es-tu ?»), un effort pour atténuer la honte de sa nudité.
