The axis of identities by Malek Chebel

The identitys‘s permanence, perceived as an infinity of culminating points whose spatialization would give a sort of linear continuum, is in itself an easy to destroy decoy. In reality, it is the succession, very difficult sometimes, of identity nodes that come to cover cyclically the axis of identities [plural, so], thus marking it of stronger “ligatures” and giving [an] evolutionary and ascencional meaning by which we can represent it.

One kills a woman by Marie-José Grihom

Gender violences inside the couple (practicing the gender) seem to be in line with the common psychic experiences of the partners, to this original fantasyone kills a woman“, which is all the more active as the rejection of the feminine is strong, for both the author as for the victim.

Not in contrast with the myth of the family by Adelina Miranda

In Italy, the media have a fundamental role showing femicide news. Unlike France, killings of women have a very large press coverage, and TV news daily update the number of women killed by men. The media produce and distribute numbers of images and narratives, and develop a collective representation of femicide which is articulated on two criteria. On the one hand, they always evoke crime as an exceptional event; on the other hand, they are very astonished by the fact that the violence takes place within the family environment. Indeed, the speeches produced by the press and the television evacuate all political and social implication, they put forward a face and an individual history while using an interpretative semantics which is based on a reductive vision of the phenomenon. The stories are told in the singular using a recurring statement: a man, more or less in love (even if sometimes he has a relationship with another woman) kills his wife or his companion because it considered leaving him or had already quits. The produced picture is the one of a man who is struck in his love, and sometimes, may be presented as a fragile human being. Because of its exceptional nature, the killing act does not appear to be in contrast with the myth of the family, as a place of love, mutual aid, support, personal fulfillment.

Femicide and patriarchal order by Juan Manuel Iranzo

Feminicide: the killing of a woman because some man or men, although occasionally also some women who accept men’s values, has or have sentenced her to death adducing whatever reasons, motives or causes, but nonetheless actually and ultimately because he or they believe she has defied (the words they often use are ‘offended’ or ‘insulted’) patriarchal order (in their words ‘honourable’ societies) beyond what her judge (often but not always the same person who kills her) is prepared to tolerate without retaliating in that way.

Analysis : an impossible profession by Sigmund Freud

It almost looks as if analysis were the third of those “impossible” professions in which one can be sure beforehand of achieving unsatisfying results. The other two, which have been known much longer, are education and government.

FREUD S., Analysis Terminable and Interminable,(1937)
